Rachel Maddow has that rare quality that few interviewers/talk show hosts possess now days…the ability to listen. Plus she’s intelligent, articulate, humorous, compassionate and beautiful.

I am grateful for Ali’s commentary. Though I adore Rachel I am not often able to catch her show. Ali’s comments can often lead me to stories or points of view that are useful when I write my column. That’s right, sometimes I write an editorial piece that is an opinion that I develop from hearing someone else’s opinion of someone else’s opinion!

Bruce, what Jessica K is basically trying to say is…

“STOP BEATING A DEAD HORSE.”

And she never told you to shut up, not once. She only commented about the nature of your comments. She’s commenting that you’re wasting your time by BEATING A DEAD HORSE. If you don’t like this column even if it were already explained to you why it is so by the contributing writer herself, then use your common sense to tune in to another website or column or article or whatever floats your boat.

What the hell is up with all the attacks recently on the contributing writers?

Folks are reacting as if they site isn’t tailored specifically to what a particular reader wants to read about they attack.

It’s just like TV. If you don’t like the show don’t watch it so…

If you don’t like the article don’t read it!

Keep up the good work Ali, I enjoy hearing about the show as I just don’t have the time to catch it. Besides ratings for Rachael’s show are going up and the ratings for faux news are going down.

Ali…. I believe that as a community we gay, lezbian, etal…..must continue to strive at our chosen professions at a level above and beyond what would be deemed excellent performance by our straight counterparts.
As a result I would like to see 365 step up it’s format so that it has news and intelligent commentary ( original thought) by it’s reporters, journalists and editorialists!

I fully agree that my column is not hard news. It appears in the “Entertainment” section.

I believe that Rachel Maddow is news because she is a very visible out lesbian who, in addition to being damn good at her job, has achieved an amazing crossover appeal. For example, I first heard about her show from my straight parents.

There are plenty of 365Gay readers who don’t like this column. Your best bet in ridding the world of it is to deny me the page hits by not clicking on it.

Or you may decide that, like a friendly fungus, it grows on you.

365…. believes that The Racheal Maddow show is in itself news?

So it’s a about reporting on the reporting.

Bruce, if you’ll click on the video segments, you’ll see that there is a woman in them who does not look like the picture at the top of this column.

She is a real person named Rachel Maddow.

She has a news and commentary show, The Rachel Maddow Show.

365Gay hired me, an entirely different person, to do daily recaps of her show.

I do not communicate as if we are interchangeable; you’ll note, for example, that today’s column is written in the third person tense. That’s because I am not Rachel Maddow.

I agree that Cronkite was a remarkable news man and the story was about him. That’s why I praised Ms. Maddow – still an entirely different person – for mostly keeping quiet and letting her guests talk.

If you are a fan of Cronkite, I recommend the clips. You’ll hear good firsthand accounts from people who knew and admired him.
