The one thing I felt that Rachel failed to mention is that most of these benefits are already provided (and have been since the Clinton administration)...the memo just "tells" them to do what they are already doing, and it only covers the federal executive branch.

This is too little, too late. Obama said that he was going to be a leader. Leading isn't waiting for Congress to pass legislation. Leading is telling Congress to pass legislation. Leading is using Presidential authority to stop separations under DADT and halting the enforcement of an unconstitutional law such as DOMA.

A big kudos to Rachel for how she presented our situation last night. Poor Tammy Baldwin, too little too late. There are very few heros in this, especially from the dems, who have taken our hard work, our money, our time, and our hopes. Mr. Obama looked like they had extracted a tooth while he was sitting and giving us "hope".

Hope the dems enjoy the party while I sit this out until we have our full civil rights. That is, the end of DOMA, DADT, and full federal civil rights. Bye bye dems. See ya.

No $ for Democrats until they repeal DOMA and DADT.

When they ask, just tell them you have too much on your plate right now to write a check.

Sadly, Tammy Baldwin could be introducing a DOMA repeal bill right now but hasn't.

Tammy Baldwin isn't the only politician pushing things for us - Vermont Senate President pro tempore Peter Shumlin, who insisted on the same-sex marriage bill, announced he is boycotting the DNC dinner - at which he was to be an honoree - over the hurtful and hate-inciting language of the DOMA brief.
Since he's expected to run for governor of Vermont, that's a lot of access time he's giving up for us.
