My parents abused me because I was different. the abuse continued into adulthood and I developed substance abuse issues.

Over many years I have met many other LGBT folks with these same issues and most with similar histories of abuse.

Therefore it did not come as a surprise to me when I spied a little gossip column piece this morning saying how angry Lindsy’s father was with her and how he considered Samantha some sort of dark evil force.

It completes the picture.

End the parental abuse of LGBT kids.

Words are important. She wasn’t out before this, and because she never came out some people believe that this is just a “phase”. Check over at the huffpo, the commenters there believe this just a stupid Hollywood stunt.
We queers still need to come out vocally, it refinforces the point that our sexuality isn’t just a “phase”. Straight people, no matter how “tolerant” or “accepting” still believe that one day we will be just like them.

I think she finaslly confirmed it because of the wording, it wasn’t “are you?”, it was “How long now?” and it was kindly, not asking about orientation or the validity of the relationship. These are all important bits and Lohan had clearly made a mental decision to wait until it was asked in such a subtle way.

Lohan being in a same-sex relationship makes much of her wild actions and outbursts of the last few years come into a new light. Was she acting out while internally she was struggling with her emotions and sexuality?
Even if we never know, I think I can forgive her now that she seems to be at peace with herself.

suddenly i like lindsay a whole lot more. even if she is a total embarassment to the community., straight or gay. hopefully she doesn’t do anything stupid and set the movement back. that’s kind of exposure is nothing we need

Not exactly the perfect role model for young lesbians, but Lohan does seem to be turning her life around. I hope they have many happy years together.

i think that it is amazing. i am a lesbian myself and a huge fan of lindsay lohan. i am very happy for her and sam and i wish them all the best.
