Pictures of the life of Harvey Milk

Coinciding with the release of the film “Milk,” The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Historical Society is opening a new exhibit in San Francisco’s Castro District called “Passionate Struggle: Dynamics of San Francisco’s GLBT History.” The exhibit includes pictures of Milk’s life that were included in 365Gay News’ special.

According to Randy Shilts’ definitive biography of Milk, “The Mayor of Castro Street,” more than 375,000 people lined the streets of San Francisco for the parade, the largest gathering in San Francisco in all of the 1970s. Milk’s campaign manager, Anne Kronenberg, is driving the car. The Milk fan with the python is unidentified.
