Pictures of the life of Harvey Milk
Coinciding with the release of the film “Milk,” The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Historical Society is opening a new exhibit in San Francisco’s Castro District called “Passionate Struggle: Dynamics of San Francisco’s GLBT History.” The exhibit includes pictures of Milk’s life that were included in 365Gay News’ special.

Harvey Milk at San Francisco’s Gay Freedom Day Parade, June 1978. Activists encouraged the crowd to hold signs saying where they were from, as Harvey Milk did with his “I’m from Woodmere, New York” sign, to show that San Francisco was a refuge for gay Americans everywhere.
