New cabinet position: Secretary of Cutting Through the B.S.

Duties:

• Implement programs encouraging the American people to stop the spin, talking points, and rhetorical ‘culture war’ code-wording, and to instead embrace frank discussion of the actual issues at hand.
• Ensure that church/state matters are kept in their respective categories, and help Americans understand why the distinction actually strengthens religious freedom.
• Create innovative ways for the White House to communicate with 21st century Americans. Radio addresses are fine and dandy; but wouldn’t a frank, conversational weekly YouTube video be refreshing (and far-reaching)?
• Basically anything that helps us act more like a community of humans deserving of respect and less like polarized robots whose every given product has been stripped of the “real.”

Why an LGBT person? Who knows better about bullsh*t than one who’s had their life, love and existence thoroughly trampled on by the weighty and thoroughly artificial foot of bias?
