The legal war between former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant organizers is over.1

At age 34, he wrote a thesis calling working women a detriment to society and argued that government was justified in discriminating against gays and unmarried "cohabitators" to shield traditional families.7

Cecelia Burnett and Ann Swanson had already set their wedding date. When they joined about 1,000 other gay marriage supporters for an election night party in a Holiday Inn ballroom, they hoped to celebrate the vote that would make it possible.6

In Washington State, where voters are being asked to decide whether to keep a newly passed domestic partnership law, the result is not likely to be known for several days.1

Gay marriage has now lost in all 31 states in which it has been put to a popular vote.8
