Still, throwing shoes at him was a particularly pointless thing to do. Yes, exposing the soles of a shoe is considered an insult in Arab nations, but not in America (unless you’ve stepped in something, and then it’s just vile) so it’s an insult that would have gone, like the shoes, right over his head.

And what if one or both had hit him right in the middle of his head? What damage would it have done? There’s clearly no brain rattling away in there, so at worst it would have knocked the hamster off its wheel for a few seconds.
