We’re looking for a lesbian blogger
Are you a news junkie? Are you fixated on the election? Do you burn every time you hear about a county somewhere far away refusing to pass an anti-discrimination law?
Are you a woman with strong opinions who is able to express them easily - and quickly - in words, and back up your opinions with links and facts?
365gay.com is looking for a blogger, preferably female to complement James Withers, but we’re open-minded.
You would need to post every weekday - one provocative 400-ish (or more) word post and two or three quick posts that are basically links to other sites with stories you find interesting/important.
There’s money involved, but this is a freelance gig - it’s probably not enough to pay your rent.
You don’t need blogging experience necessarily, but you should be able to size/crop photos (you’ll need your own photo program) and feel confident that with a tiny bit of training you could post on WordPress.
Interested? Email Jennifer Vanasco, editor in chief of 365gay.com, with your resume, a letter of interest that explains why you would be great at this, and a sample 400-word post. Email is Jennifer.Vanasco@logostaff.com.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Yes, a lesbian point of view would be refreshing - though I don’t know that James’ point of view accurately represents a broad base of gay men either. Some fresh blood is decidedly needed. Thank God for Wayne, Lisa and for you Jennifer. Your collective writings provide a much needed sense of vitality here.
ReplyI am a lesbian blogger…. but you should cruse by the site because we have a bunch of good ones and I’d love to see somebody get paid to do this….
ReplyGreat idea to ad more Lesbian viewpoint. I would like to see you get a Male Gay viewpoint also. I agree with Chris that James is not representative of Gay Males and I certainly hope you are not counting Parks as a Gay male. I believe all viewpoints are great but a more mainstream Gay male viewpoint added to the mix would be awesome.
ReplyI will however be pleased with the addition of a new Lesbian writer, I am sure I will feel more in tune with her then the males you have writing now.
Bisexual women need not apply?
ReplyPecola,
Anyone, including bisexual women, should apply.
Sincerely,
James
Replybisexual women, queer-identified women - in fact, everyone - is invited to apply.
I’m excited that we’ve gotten so much interest so far! Over 30 applications as of this morning.
ReplyPecola - Thanks for pointing out that obvious oversite - YES - Bisexual people should most defnitely be a vital part of this site. Too often, Gay and Lesbian people dismiss bisexuals as “half gay” on some level and don’t express concern of interest in that point of view - but it most certainly is necessary to have.
ReplyI would suggest Cheryl Barcenas, formerly of sirius OutQ’s OutQ in the morning. Brains, wit and a good point of view.
ReplyI’ve got more opinions than you can shake a mouse at. It would be interesting to add the perspectives of a genuine Southern Dyke, blogging from Atlanta, GA — a city with one of the largest LGBT populations in the country. Yes, there ARE queers outside of L.A., New York and San Francisco. Check out my blog at lifeonq.com.
ReplyLaura,
Have you emailed Jennifer? If you haven’t you should.
Sincerely,
James
ReplyAny word on the who the new lesbian/bisexual/trans/queer/gay blogger will be?
ReplyAnything ever come of this?
ReplyElizabeth and Jen,
We are still looking at applications. If know of anyone make sure to put him/her in contact with Jennifer.
Sincerely,
James
