democrat I do believe that he cares. Obama
and the dems have done more for us in the last six months than any repugnican has ever done. They are nothing but lying hypocrits who spout family values and then stab people in the back. I believe that any gay person who votes for them is like a jew who would vote for Hitler! Log cabin repugnicans need
to wake up. What kind of judges would they put onto the court? More like that phoney prick Scalia. I’m ashamed to be an italian american with ones who think and act like him! Yes, the dems need to do a-lot more
for us and I believe they will but the
economy is number one, unfortunatly.

I don’t believe that Obama has the spine or the desire to nominate a GLBT person to the Supreme Court. He’s already demonstrated multiple times his willingness to ignore GLBT issues to suit his political needs.

SCOTUS absolutely should get another racial minority non-catholic female, but I don’t trust Sears to be supportive of GLBT equality.

It’s not a rumor, it’s a fact.

Why should that rule her out? Ruth Bader Ginsburg has a very warm relationship with Anthony Scalia and had a warm relationship with William Rehnquist, and she’s the complete judicial opposite of both of them.

Just because people happen to be friendly doesn’t mean that they will agree on legal issues. It’s not uncommon for judges on the same bench to be friendly with each-other even though they seldom agree on legal issues.

She definitely intends to stay on the court, in any case. Ginsburg is old, but she’s tough. She won’t die until she’s good and ready, and she probably won’t retire until she’s ready to die.

Rumor has it Leah Sears of Georgia is friends with Clarence Thomas…UGHH, that should rule her out.

Anyway, the next justice must be further to the left of Sotomayor. They should be young (late forties/early fifties) so that whoever selected would still be on the bench when I’m in my fifties( I’m currently in my twenties). I would like to see another woman selected given that Ruth Ginsburg is recovering from pancreatic cancer and my not stay on much longer as I would like on the court.
