"Social change occurs through patience, stamina, and building political alliances with others."---abqkevin

Uh huh. That's what all those African-Americans did in the '60s to achieve progress, right? No marching, no demonstrations, no Black Panthers, etc.

Here's a question for you Kev, what has Obama done for our community? It's a simple question, easily answered. Yet, noone can seem to come up with an answer.

Now, I know what Obama SAYS he's GOING to do, but what has he DONE? Absolutely nothing.

BTW, I'm one of those many millions who had their vote stolen this year. As a result, this election marks the first time that no Democrat on the ballot received my vote: The first time, but I have a feeling there will be many more to come, unless the Dems clean house.

NO, Jennifer.

He'll just add a Jew and a Muslim to the list of "honorary co-chairs", and expect everyone to feel all "hopey, changey".

Change you can gag on.

D. Your shallow comments seem to suggest that someone who is elected into office is above criticism. Simply because I vote for someone does not mean I forfeit the right to criticize their behavior. I voted for Obama and am disappointed with his behavior. It has nothing to do with some sort of insinuated "losers" mentality.

D, I give the Office of President the respect that it deserves. (Just as I gave the office the respect under Bush II, Clinton, Bush, Reagan and Carter.)

Respect of the man is earned. To date, I've seen nothing that has noted that I should respect Obama for any reason.

I've never seen so many bitching about Obama. If you are so disappointed with his decisions, then "why the hell did you vote for him?". You guys sound like a bunch of sore losers. Go home and cry yourselves to sleep. I voted for Obama, and although some of his choices are questionable, you, if you voted for him, have to let the man lead this country. He hasn't had the chance yet, so damn give him the respect he deserves. I have a feeling that alot of the people on here whining and bitching are McCain/Palin losers. So pull your big pants up, and start acting like adults instead of the crybabies that you are.

Obama or his staffers who made the Rev.Rick Warren selection almost as needlessly notorious as the GOP's failed attempts to discredit Obama with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright debacle need to get their heads out of their asses. Some mistakes cannot be rectified after the fact. President-elect Obama, please take notice!

O Sandoval, Warren is Obama's vision for America.

You just don't realize it yet. Give it some time and Saint Obama will make it perfectly clear to you that gay folk are not part of Obama's America. (Now they are part of his donation base, but not a place at the table.)

How long do we have to make room for bigots? They are crazy, they hear the "voice of God" in their head whisper whatever they want to hear. I respect being a spiritual being, to be one with earth, or with whomever imaginary being they worship, but these people are scary. The more I read about this Warren individual the more I find that he doesn't belong in Obama's vision for America. Warren doesn't belong, because Warren doesn't want to belong. It's sad to know that there's still people out there that think something bad is going to happen if you don't see the world the same way they do.

It was not that I did not see this coming, even though I voted for Obama. I agree with most of the points you articulated. I felt McCain/Palin would be worse on this issue. I see the marriage issue as one of civil rights and separation of church and state. How much faith-based money do you think Warren will get? Ugh.

Tammy Balwin and Melissa Etheridge Put On Their Rat Suits and Join Pied Piper Obama in the Dance Down to the Waterfront

...by Bud Evans

So, Congresswoman Tammy Balwin follows the gay lemmings in their headlong march off the clift at Obama’s inauguration. How many clowns with painted smiles does it take to make a circus? You wipe the faces clean and you’ll see a lot of sad faces underneath the makeup. So why participate in this farce? Gay Pride has become an oxymoron thanks to the feckless “leadership” in our community.

I wonder just how many other "Step 'em, Fetch its" and “Gay Uncle Toms” the Obama administration will put on parade at his “Coronation” in order to distract the media from Obama’s real agenda of political castration and marginalization of all GLBT people? Nice going Balwin, Etheridge, HRC, as well as a hardy thumbs-down to most of the gay political lemmings during the campaign season, along with as our so-called “liberal” straight allies at the Daily KOS, who told us to not make waves and stop being so “uppity“.

Just be patient, they cooed like doves and then cajoled liked annoyed step parents. Just wait for the great unveiling of the new age of Enlightenment in America and coming of the new Messiah -- that unflappable beacon of hope and equality for all -- Barack Obama.

Yes, this “savior” who telegraphed very clearly, very early on -- via his unapologetic associations with rabid homophobes in the evangelical community -- that he was no true friend to GLBT people.

Yes, be patient and stay out of the way before you fools realize that you been had!

Great job! We really know how to pick ‘em. Don’t we? Well, some of us anyway. I didn’t vote for this charlatan and neither did my partner and millions of others in the GLBT community who refused to drink the Kool-Aid. And because of that, we were reviled and accused of being stealth Log Cabin Republicans intruding on 365gay.com and other gay media sites as agents of the devil. We were denounced as assassins bent on sabotaging the Democrats in 2008 elections.

Does the old saying “Don’t kill the messenger” ring a bell for anyone out there anymore? And yet now you know what you didn’t want to hear: Barack Obama is an unprincipled jerk. You didn’t just elect a new president, you elected someone who has less class and finesse than Bill Clinton had in regards to the GLBT community -- and that takes of lot of doing.

So, congratulations to all.

Those of us who were rebuked by our own kind only tried to hold these politicians’ feet to the fire and to make them fess up, in concise language, to exactly what their agenda was regarding the GLBT community. Instead, for that, we are lambasted by the vicious, scared rabbits in the GLBT community and by our not-so “liberal” Straight so-called allies who threatened to re-appraise their commitment to the GLBT rights if we did not keep quiet.

No one (but a few of us) bothered to look past the hoop-la and to really examine this guy. When it was revealed how he showed nothing but total callous disregard for the GLBT community by selecting known homophobes to spearhead his so-called “Faith and Values Tour” in the South -- some of us looked the other way.

When his own words, opposing same-sex marriage equality, were recorded and sent out to millions of homes in California via “robo-calls” by proponents of Prop 8, did Obama counter with a Public Service Announcement explaining his token opposition to Prop 8? Did we demand loudly enough that he denounce the use of his own words, which were exploited by the purveyors of hate in California to help justify the codification of discrimination in the state constitution? Did we threaten to withhold our votes if he did not address our concerns -- like any other self-respecting minority group would? The answer is NO.

Obama sees the GLBT community as useful fools during an election and a political liability after an election -- just as most Democrats do.

So many people thought that because Obama was Black (well, half Black) that he would automatically be empathic to our concerns. How silly was that? Just because the second to the last kid in line in gym class got chosen to play in the game, it doesn’t mean he has any obligation to see that you are picked too. He’s just glad he isn’t last anymore. If nothing, that is so true of the Black community nowadays as evidenced by the widespread homophobia in it. And Obama, if nothing else, is sadly emblematic of that reality.

But now, too late, comes the inconsolable wails of betrayal from the GLBT community who asked for so little and then got exactly that they asked for. Here now are the lamentations and the shrieks of a cockled lover who is suddenly forced to admit to himself, something which he always suspected, that his mate is a faithless whore.

And you didn’t see it coming?
