Carlsbad is a right-wing stronghold. St. Michael’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Carlsbad is where a lot of the anti-gay Episcopalians in the county have gone since the anti-gay rector left All Saints’ in Hillcrest (All Saints’ is in the MIDDLE of San Diego’s gay neighborhood!). They will probably leave the Episcopal Church and join one of the African “anglican” groups at some point. But in any case, they have over a thousand communicants, and I’ll bet they’re Rethugnantcriminals each and every one of them (chuckle).

Pro-Prop-Hate forces consulted the list of people who contributed to the NO On Hate side BEFORE the vote, and sent them THREATENING letters with VERY sinister wording, basically trying to BLACKMAIL them.

Boycotts (on BOTH sides) are as American as apple pie.

Remember the Birmingham bus boycott? I do. It was the spark that lit the African-American civil rights movement.

I am legally married to my husband in California, and I doubt the CA Supreme Court is going to invalidate that, no matter which way they rule on Prop 8. I THINK that they laid the groundwork for invalidating it in the original opinion that invalidated its predecessor, Prop. 22.

But millions of GLBTQAI people in the US aren’t so fortunate.

It appears that the 9th Circuit Court has opened the first crack in the wall of the Federal Defense of Marriage Act. I know a lot of gay rights leaders would prefer NOT to go before the US Supreme Court with a DOMA, a DADT, or a Full Faith And Credit gay marriage case right NOW, in the hopes that President Obama will have the opportunity to appoint more liberal Justices.

Sadly, Justice Ginsburg may not be able to serve much longer; but replacing her would be replacing one liberal with another.

We’ve got the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, and American Sociological Association on our side. You’ve got the debunked pseudo-research of certified crackpots like “Doctor” Paul Cameron and Laura Schlessinger.

I’d say the science on the ‘normalcy’ of homosexuality is pretty solid. No thanks to people like you.

You have it backwards. The Nazi’s killed us and things like proposition 8 were the beginning of the pogrom that resulted in the holocaust.

YOU are the problem here. This time we see you.

Harassment is exactly what Yes on Prop H8 supporters did a lot of to No on Prop H8 supporters. Those attrocities committed by Yes on Prop H8 supporters are on display on the Marriage Equality USA website under How Prop 8 Harmed My Family or similarly worded that way.

While I am not going to lower myself to the same level of vileness as some the Yes on 8 supporters, I want to know what companies and persons where involved and made checks in the company name to Yes on 8 so when in CA, I don’t have to taint my money by patronizing the business of my enemy.

And the people in CA need to know so they can avoid realtors and other individuals and businesses that gave to Prop 8. So that same-sex couples and their allies can exact a price for the harm a neighbor, relative or friend did, by maybe giving that person the silent treatment and by stearing clear of their businesses, etc or by writing them a note by letting them know you found out what they did.
