I dont see how Obama's race has to do with anything about this. That was just a racist and ignorant statement. Anyways, Obama's mentor is Abriham Lincoln. When Lincoln was president slavery was around. Lincoln didn't abolish that law until his second term, knowing if he did this in his first term he couldn't get enough votes to run for a second. I think that is what Oboma has in plan. His first term, we will not see many changes, but just wait till he (hopefully) is in his second.

James, what Steve is trying to get at is that most Obamabots will accuse anyone who criticizes The Chosen One as racist or a PUMA, thus minimizing and dismissing any argument they may have.

That was the point, but it went over your head since obviously you thought it was a racial remark.

In 1949, Harry Truman signed a executive order to end discrimination against Blacks in the armed services by banning segregation. The vast, vast majority of the US public was against him; even some very high ranking White military officers resigned in protest. The US Congress was against it. The Pentagon was against it because they said that it would detrimentally affect, guess what, “unit cohesion and morale“. But Truman did it anyway because it was the right thing to do.

Barack Obama cannot issue an executive order to overturn Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (also known as “Hide and Lie while you Die for your Country“), but he can stop the continuing persecution and the ousting of very competent and extremely patriotic Gays and Lesbians from our Armed Forces by issuing a Stop Gap executive order today. He could also extend it indefinitely until the Democratic Congress (which the GLBT community helped put into power) acts to overturn this disgraceful affront to human dignity, to patriotism, and to the principles of equality before the law as clearly laid out as the foundation of our US Constitution.

To do less will forever brand President Obama as a moral coward and a enabler of unconscionable bigotry in the eyes of future generations of American citizens. History will not be kind to him. His lack of commitment to equality for all Americans will be the stain which will forever taint any other accomplishments he may achieve as the first African American president of the United States.

Steve,

Why do you feel a need to bring up Obama's race? What does that have to do with anything? And please don't answer if all you are going to do is go on some silly racial rant.

Sincerely,

James
