Shannon Minter, the head of NCLR,  argued the case before the Supreme Court of Calif. that LGBTs should have the right to marry.

“In California right now, we are facing an initiative to take away the right to marry – and to take away our dignity and hope, and return us to second class citizens.

“We are seeking to raise more money than has ever been raised in such a campaign. The political stakes in Calif. could not be higher. But for the first time in our history we have a presidential candidate, Barack Obama,  who opposes any initiative that denies recognition of same-sex relationships.”
