Ruby-Sachs: Vandals and Churches
Turns out gay people aren’t the only kind of angry protestors who choose to target churches.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported yesterday that a gay-friendly Catholic church in the Castro was painted with Swastikas and messages about Proposition 8.
After many reports (I remember one in particular from FOX news) about the violent gays victimizing houses of worship it seems only fitting that the pro-Prop 8 movement should have a taste of their own medicine.
This doesn’t mean that all Pop 8 supporters are neo-Nazi church haters. Just like the protests outside of Mormon churches didn’t mean that all Prop 8 opponents were graffiti artists and vandals. Although I am sure it is fair to point out that neo-Nazis, among others, are not big fans of the gay community and one should probably re-examine their political positions when extremist groups share their particular hatreds.
The point is that Proposition 8 supporters attempted to attribute the violent incidents from the post-election protests to the entire gay movement.
If we accept that premise, then the horrifically offensive graffiti from the walls of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church belong to the Mormons, the Evangelical Christians and every other member of the traditional marriage team.
Enjoy.

Have you read the graffiti? It says
“Where is the love?” It puts a swastika next to Ratzinger’s name. How is that “horrific”?
