Ruby-Sachs: Economy in trouble, again

For days I have been listening to BBC and NPR reports about how we dodged a bullet on the credit crisis. One BBC reporter even credited the British Prime Minister with saving the world by encouraging bailouts across Europe and the United States.
But then today, the Dow is back down and economic hardships still loom.
Can we make up our minds?

The loosening of the credit crisis does not mean the economy as a whole is in better straits than it was before the crisis began.
Stock market performance is not as good of an indicator of how the economy is doing as some would like it to be.
