Lowery doesn’t support gay marriage he is against it because deeply rooted in his heart and mind marriage is associated with a man and woman (that’s what he said) – he supports civil unions but not gay marriage.

I think that Obama is simply reaching out to every person in the community of the United States. We are referred to as a melting pot of different races, cultures, backgrounds, religions. As President, he cannot afford to just take our side, he needs to reach out to everyone. I support Obama and if his decision was Rick Warren, then so be it. Those who do not believe in God or do not like him simply because of his opinion and stance in regards to our lifestyle need to remember that we live in the USA where people are free to believe in anything they want, freedom of speech. They need to suck it up, just like Rick Warren will have to when they allow Gay marriage and further more, other rights that people in our community deserve. One step at a time folks!

The question of why Melissa has suddenly become “friendly” in light of his stance on homosexuality and women’s rights is not what we should be asking ourselves. The real question is “what was she offered to entice her to be friendly with Warren”.

If it weren’t so sad, I’d be laughing do hard my ribs would hurt. Obama had said from the beginning he didn’t believe we were worthy of equality, which many forgot when he said he would fight for our equality. There is no cause for you to be outraged. Obama did not deceive you. You deceived yourselves.

Warren’s theme was about people getting along, forgetting their differences and focusing on areas of agreement. The audience cheered him, and many people rose to their feet.

Among the first to stand was singer Melissa Etheridge, a lesbian, who performed for the audience. …”

I am appalled by Melissa Etheridge’s joining in a standing ovation for Rick Warren. Why?

This selection is outrageous and so is Obama’s defense of it. Yes, by all means “agree to disagree” on policy issues.

However, we should NEVER agree to disagree on equality under the law or on treating all citizens with respect.

With his comments on gay relationships, Warren showed he does not deserve to be included among those you can have a civil discussion with.

Janet, I think YOU better wake up. The X-tian right will NEVER embrace Obama, unless he started burning gays at the stake, and drawing and quartering MDs who perform abortions. This so-called offering will be rejected utterly.

Tossing Rick Warren a bone only serves to anger and inflict pain on those of us who gave both our time and our treasure to see him through to this inauguration.

The Obama campaign has treated the GLBT like an ATM, taking our money and then turning their backs to walk away.

Given the blame that so many placed upon the “black community” for Prop 8, isn’t having a pro-gay black preacher give the benediction incredibly powerful?

Obama said he was going to do his best to be everybody’s president. We have to accept that will mean that sometimes he will give an ear to people that we don’t like.
