this is total bullshit. this man is a puppet who has let down the very people who got him elected. we need to be brave enough to support candidates brave enough to support us. when we settle for neoliberal, heteronormative, heterosexist, capitalist wimps like this one, “change” is nothing more than a slogan on a poster that all of us paid far too much for.

wow…so you’re impressed that Obama made a speech? If only his actions backed him up. He openly does NOT support same-sex marriage, has recently supported the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), gave only limited benefits to Federal employees, and has done little to nothing to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” by stalling the issue.

He says a few nice words to placate the gay/lesbian movement…but his actions thus far have been pretty offensive. Why doesn’t the community hold him accountable?

Ick. Proclamations like this have been issued for Gay Pride Month for the last 40 years. They make me sick because they have become just empty words on a page. It is cover for inaction on the part of our leaders. “See, I support you . . . just look at the proclamation I made for gay pride month!” While it might have made me feel good back in 1972, it now only makes me sick. These proclamations only serve to remind us of how far we have not come.

The only thing that is worse than a blatantly aggressive homophobe, such as Bush and Dobson, is a hypocritical, backstabbing homophobe such like Obama.

For example: A mugger has robbed you — i.e. you fear and hate muggers. Now, a politician running for town Sheriff comes along and says, if elected, he will not make it easy for muggers to victimize innocent people. All past and potential victims of muggers are happy, right?

After the election, this Sheriff ignores the muggings and instead hosts Def Jam poetry readings at his residence furnished by the tax payers and then goes off to kiss the rings of foreign kings whose countries produced most of the 911 terrorists — while he ignores the domestic terrorists and terrorist laws at home which still victimizes tens of millions in the GLBT community and robs them of their civil rights each day.

In the meantime, the muggings continue and it is business as usual with the Sheriff walking some decrepit old former First “Dragon” Lady over to his desk to sign some proclamation to honor a criminal by the name of Ronald Reagan who, while in office, ignored the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people dying of AIDS because that too, was not a politically “safe” thing to address at the time.

Just remember: Justice delayed is justice denied. Obama and Reagan (his idol, by the way) are/were both delayers and deniers, and therefore willing and capable enablers of great crimes against humanity .

OBAMA has earned the title Bigot-in-Chief.

Regrettably, he has not mugged us and then stabbed us in the heart upfront where we could at least seen him coming, and perhaps avoided him. No, he’s picked our pockets clean for political donations/votes and then knifed us in the back from the safe, protective, distance of the White Castle on the Hill where we put him in power to continue the evil of social injustice that is done against us.

Vile and despicable is too polite a way to describe him. And please, no lame-ass excuses of “Republicans are worse”. That is like saying: Isn’t it much better to be f*cked over by a “friend” than by an enemy? Uh…NO!

But we still have power, if we choose to use it. If the tens of millions of GLBT (second class) Americans only voted for proven pro-GLBT Democrats or pro-GLBT Republicans or, instead, voted Third Party until the Democrats on Capital Hill get the message that: They will not remain in power if just one link in that chain of minority coalitions is broken.

We are one of the strongest links in that chain, not only because of being a lemming-like, reliable voting block in the past, but because, per capita, we have contributed more time, money, and activism for the ungrateful Democrats than any other minority in the party. WE owe them nothing, they owe us Everything.

And this is what we get?

Wow. I just watched Brian William’s love fest for Obama et al. I find it completely and utterly amazing that this man just stated that Gays and Lesbians have a friend in the White House because he has been consistently for Civil Unions. OMG.
And then we hear how the whole world is waiting with baited breath as he upholds a campaign promise and gives a speech in a Muslim Country.
So, let me get this “straight”.
My partner and I have paid thousands of dollars in taxes in our 14 years together and he wants to graciously allow us to visit each other in the hospital and become unionized.
Simultaneously – he is making good on his promise to reach out to a region of the world who sent people out to kill as many of Americans as they could.
Tax paying Americans vs Jihadists.
And we’re the losers. Go figure.
Perhaps we missed his criteria that you have to have flown planes into buildings in order to follow through with his campaign promise to us to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the Defense of Marriage Act.
In which case, we are all screwed. We love this country.
Perhaps, since he is so repeatedly intent on making us second class citizens and having separate places in society – we could just put on our pink triangle armbands asap.
