Lowenstein: Ellen, Portia voted most trustworthy celeb parents

It seems that Americans share my view that Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi would be amazing moms. Voters in an online poll run by parentdish.com selected the First Family of Lesbian America as the celebrities they would most want to trust their children with.

That parents selected a gay couple at all– much less one with no children of their own– shows remarkable progress.

So happy belated Mothers’ Day to all the mothers out there, particularly those mothers who’s families have been setting mind-changing examples for years.

    • Are you serious Bill Peiffer??? Just what has Ellen done that brings you to the oppinion that she discriminates against men????????

    • I would like to know, from Bill Peiffer, just what Ellen has done on her show that you preceive that she “discriminate(s) on her daytime show”…and that “Her discrimination is against men.”??????????? I’d like to ask you to give me a “reasonable explanation” for your remark!!!!! Are we watching the same “Ellen” show???????

    • I’m glad that Ellen and Portia are amazing moms. However, it is a shame that Ellen chooses to discriminate on her daytime show. Her discrimination is against men. Hopefully, somebody, somewhere can show her what she is doing wrong. I can’t believe that somebody who promotes equality,as much as Ellen, so openly discriminates on her show. Please give a reasonable explaination as to why.

    • What a great choice!
Who’da thunk, that this would happen….BUT
remember that actions speak louder than words.
How refreshing to see that a gay/lesbian couple would be held in such hi esteme and entrusted with the greatest treasures any man or woman will ever have ….their child!

Portia and her spouce Ellen…your amazing!

    • I know one thing. Someone filled with as much anger and hate as Menstruator would make a horrible parent. Let us pray she never breeds

    • It’s not just about changing dirty diapers and cleaning up vomit. lol It takes morals, values, and a good head on your shoulders to raise a child. Raising a well-rounded child is a very elaborate and difficult process. Ellen and Portia are LGBT and animal rights activists, vegan, donate hundreds of thousands to charities, raise millions more for charities, and are extremely generous. How much better could you get, as far as a role model goes? Nobody better comes to mind. lol They are wonderful people and would be wonderful mothers.

    • It’s ok Randy. I think thte Menstruator steps on puppies and bites the heads of song birds just for fun.

I can’t wait until Ellen and Portia start a family.

    • Wow. Bad day for the Menstruator. How anyone could find “be a good mom” or “be a good dad” offensive is beyond me. It boggles the mind. As for Ellen, she does her job well, and also does her part for queer issues. Like Milk, but unlike the Menstruator, she understands that having people on your side helps you accomplish your goals.

    • What does the sentence mean, You’d make a great mom?
Does that mean you’ll do very well changing diapers and cleaning vomit? Or molding a young mind to not be brainwashed in this sexist oppressive society?
Either way it’s rather offensive and this article, be it short, is a joke. Luckily these two have the good sense to not give into the baby nation and reproduce. And I don’t know about Portia, but Ellen dances and acts like a clown for the straights so of course they love her, she’s doesn’t use her platform assertively and panders to breeders.

    • I’ll be honest – I would trust Ellen & Portia more with my children than I would with my own parents! They are wonderful women and would make the world’s best mothers! Their values are amazing and they are the sweetest people in the entire world!
