I want ENDA but it isn’t enough. Give me a combo of DADT, rep. DOMA, ENDA (inclusive of our Trans family), and UAFA and maybe I’ll open the purse strings again. If I see two or three of these this year, that will be significant progress…any less and it is just another dirty memorandum.

Besides, the news just portrays us as this angry annoying minority anyway and it won’t be long before we start alienating straight people on the fence by doing so.

We obviously got Congress’s attention. Maybe we shouldn’t give them the message that “Nothing you’ll do is worth our time and money!” – as bold as that is, ..it’s just not true, I’d kind of like my rights at some point.

..And as far as Barney Frank is concerned, I ask you: while I’d be willing to bet that all (or at least most) of your straight friends support you, how hard and awkward is it to get them to act on it? Yes.. they’d value your relationship as equal to theirs; yes, they’d go to your wedding even.., but try getting them to actually vote or act on their support in any way (like for colleges – getting Safe Zone Trained). You think it’s automatic until you ask.

Let’s see if the Democrats in Congress have a shred of decency left in them. If the House and Senate can put this bill on Obama’s desk, I DARE him not to sign it! Otherwise, every self-respecting gay person in America should abandon him in 2012.

Call these politicians to task for allowing gay apartheid in America. Remind them that gay Americans are Americans too and that they are supporting a government legally blind to the fact that gay American families even EXIST!
When gay Americans and their families ARE recognized legally, it’s as second class citizens.

Benefits for Federal Employees? Bullshit. How about equal access to American law and the right to form families, not in South Carolina or Colorado “when they’re ready to let you” but in AMERICA!

Maybe Obama has forgotten what MLK said about gradualism and civil rights.
Perhaps Mr Franks needs to review that as well!
