This is James. I think McCain has the upper hand in this part of the debate. What do you think?
James again: wait a minute. Weren’t the freedom fighters McCain supported back in the day the very folk we are fighting today?
James: Obama is holding his own in foreign policy. I’m rather suprised.

ooooh, the VPs come up. Obama says he’s proud of Biden, and addresses the surge. He’s looking good, I think.
ReplyMcCain: Obama doesn’t understand the difference between a tactic and a strategy.
Strategy: a systemic plan of action
Tactic: a limited means of action using what’s available.
Um, I think he gets that.
ReplyJames: Who do you think is looking more presidential here?
ReplyI think Obama is holding his own on McCain’s turf
ReplyMcCain is stressing the importance of visiting these countries. I wonder how he reconciles that with the choice of Sarah Palin.
ReplyIs it me or is McCain speaking in general terms and Obama hitting specifics?
ReplyI think Obama might be seeming too professorial. It’s the kind of smarts I want in a leader, but might not draw the people in.
ReplyJay,
I would say Obama is coming off as presidential. He is going toe to toe with McCain on the very thing that is McCain’s forte.
ReplyJames: I don’t know. I feel like Obama is doing what we expect- dry facts. McCain is bringing it alive more.
ReplyMcCain is purposely being deaf the whole meeting issue.
ReplyTough talk on Russia from Obama! Well done.
ReplyYeah Obama is not coming off as soft on Russia. Oh, the KGB joke is tired. And it mocks Bush. Not Obama
ReplyIt all comes back to our energy policy. How do we impact foreign policy if we are sucking up foreign oi?
ReplyAnother attack on America? That’s a question that threw McCain off. Can’t blame him really. It threw me off. McCain gives a good answer on torture.
ReplyThe 9/11 question plays to McCain’s strengths: long experience, declarations against torture, solemn sureness.
ReplyObama is coming off as rather hawkish on foreign policy. He’s going have to if he wants independent votes.
ReplyI can’t believe this! We are in an economic crisis. Our gay rights are being denied. We accept what is happening to this country. No one is on our side. If you don’t want any more of this, then Obama should be our next president. I believe that he can change our country for the better. If McCain becomes president, then we will have more of the same. Wake up people!
