Congrats CA Couples

Despite my indifference to the marriage debate, it’s hard not to get misty over Del Martin, 87, and Phyllis Lyon, 84. The couple, who have been together for over 50 years, were one of the first same-sex couples to get married in California yesterday.

“When we first got together we weren’t thinking about getting married,” Lyon said. “I think it’s a wonderful day.”

Lyon is right. The day is wonderful. A toast of the bubbly to all who are tying the knot.
