Colbert takes on Obama’s – er- policy on gays and lesbians. As he says, “He’s giving you things – just not your rights.”

And so he suggests a chant to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Stonewall this weekend:

“We’re here, we’re queer, they’ll get to us eventually.”

Check out the segment below.

    • I was quite impressed when Colbert chose to address DADT in front of his military audience on his recent ME trip.

During this show I really came to be affected with Mr. Colbert’s comprehension of and comfort with the issues.

I agree with Shai. Could the Secretary of the Secret Gay Agenda please send Mr. Colbert his membership card, official copy of the secret plans, Idiot’s Guide to Judy Garland, and, additionally, a commerative plaque noting his new iconic status.

    • I have to agree with Colbert and the other posters, any of the LGBT community members who wrote out those big checks to the DNC should be ashamed of themselves. They cannot be seen as LGBT leaders either, and should now assume their rightful places on the floor, underneath the chairs of the DNC members who have done nothing for us after all their talk.

    • I nominate Colbert for Official Gay Icon Status right up there with Keith Oberman! I too am amazed and disgusted at anyone in our community who wrote or who writes out checks for any politician of any party who doesn’t walk the walk. Mr. Obama and his admin has proven talk is cheap – except when they want $$$$$$$ from us. Why oh, why, does ANYONE in our commuinity believe these guys at this point? Vain hope is a starvation diet.

    • Wish more had stayed away and no one had opened their checkbooks last night. I almost missed “The Word” yesterday. Sad he has to do such a commentary. Perfectly correct and brilliantly executed! Thank you Steven Colbert.

    • That whole episode of “Colbert Report” was brilliant: It also had a segment about ‘the gay exorcism’, AND Colbert’s main guest was Jim Fouratt!

    • It was a great segment. His audience agreed with him and applauded loudly. Did you hear that NY Senate?

    • Leave it to Colbert to tell it like it is! Shame on all the gays who donated to the DNC at yesterday’s benefit!
