If you have to thoroughly explain the purpose and merits of a “Day without Gay”, even to gay people, then obviously it misses the mark.

Respectively, I wish Internet gurus would yield to professional political operatives to handle the strategic side of our movement. Techies have a role to play for sure and God love them. But, most should stay within their expertise and that’s typing code. Leave the strategic message to the professionals!

Does anyone know where this figure comes from? From what I can find it is a completely unsubstaniated claim.

@menstruation- i’m a lesbian too..and i WILL NOT be taking part, so don’t disparage gay men in an attempt to coerce people into participating in this poorly planned boycott. being a lesbian or a gay man has nothing to do with it…this boycott was hardly publicized and it’s intent is unrealistic.

So, why the need for some folks to pronounce repeatedly that they’re not participating? Seriously, I’ve read the same comments from the same people in every post about this. Why tear other gays down for doing SOMETHING?

Not everyone is going to like every single idea for action. So, if you don’t want to do something, then just don’t do it.

Opinions aren’t facts. There isn’t one person that knows better what to do than the rest of us. Gay women aren’t better than gay men. Gay men aren’t better than gay women. Stop acting so damn self-centered.

There sure are a couple man haters posting.

I suspect that m and Menstruator do not do a lot of volunteer work. If you did, you’d likely see a fair amount of gay MEN and WOMEN giving their time to worthy causes.

This “so called” day without a gay is just an ill conceived idea. Sorry, facts are facts.

P.S. – I know of no one in Atlanta or Metro Atlanta planning to participate in this event.

Those that are not participating, it is sad the day money comes before rights. If this was just a male thing, all gay men would miss a day of work, but you see it has to do with women too, no gay man would miss a day of work for his lesbian sister. Please.

Ahhhh m, makes things clearer that you are a lesbian. At no point did I say that you could not write as you wished. I just don’t believe you experienced the mentioned slight. As for the CNN exit poling, it is still posted. The so called new polling on the subject seems to amazingly gone by the wayside. (Does it seem like many of the lesbians are just a tad bit irrational on this topic?)
