Isn't marriage unconstitutional? If marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman then it goes against the constitution. Article 19 (I think) states that all people have the right to the pursuit of happiness as required by law. Therefore, if the sanctity of marriage is defined as between a man and woman, then marriage itself would be unconstitutional as it would discriminate against others that want to be married that are not traditionally male and female gendered.

Fear--I am a straight male, and a chiropractor. I am not real religious, however I am very spiritual as my grandparents were American Indian and I follow that path. My question if we are all gods children, and created by god. Then it stands to reason everyone, gay/straight different Genders, colors etc are all children of god. Now if something doesn't affect me personally, like a theft, or affects cattle prices (i raise cattle) then I don't really care what others do as long as it doesn't affect me personally. How does two men getting married impact my life in anyway. It doesn't. Secondly, it is a right, to be loved and love others. It is basic to human survival, both physically and emotionally. So my question is why is there so much fear towards the gay lifestyle or gay people in general.

My husband stayed in the US past his visa expiration date because he was waiting for his employer to do their paperwork, which never happened. We were married in California before Prop 8. Now that he's been in the country passed his visa, what would happen if the UAFA passes? Could he still get a visa from that, or would he still have to leave?

I am a transsexual in Albany, NY.
I am getting ready for my legal name change.
My therapists highly recomends I get a lawyer for this, but I have trans friends who have done it without a lawyer and not had a problem. Is a lawyer really necessary? What are the possible consequences of not getting a lawyer for this?
Thanx

My fiance and I are preparing to have a baby next year by way of a donor (a friend). We all agreed to have the donor give up his full rights. Would you be able to give me a little info on how to go about this the most effective way possible? After he gives up his rights, is there anyway I can obtain rights as well or would it be a guardianship i would pursue? Just looking for info so when we start to reach out to lawyers (if need be) I have some idea of what we are to do.. Thanks Alot!

HI
I recently (new years eve morning) lost the Love of my life. We were together and openly gay for 30 years. I am having a hard time getting on with my life. Is there any support groups in New Hampshire or a Phone support group any where that I can call or go to. I need to do something because I am digging my self in a hole, a very dark hole. Thats not me, I am a people person, I love people, laughing an joking. I drove our grandson to school this morning and he asked if I will ever be happy again, because I dont laugh and joke with him anymore. Thats what gave me the courage today to write you. Pleas help me. I also need to know where I can get financial assistance for my home.
Thank you so much
