Where are my car keys?
is there a reason why Logos News program is always and i mean always shown with tech problems thru out the broadcast
the last episode was so bad that not one full minute of the show was actually shown
the commercials ran fine but when iut came back to the show all it did was freeze up or go blank
this happeens almost every week including the promos for the show
I would think between via com and cbs this could be taken care of but week after week
Recently I was not allowed to wear a mens tux for my senior photo. I identify as transgender and refused to wear the womans drape. The yearbook company itself said they could not put the photo in but the people from the company were the ones that let me take it in the first place. What, if anything, can I do about this?
Also, are students allowed to take a same-sex date to the prom? I know there was a case like that or something. Do you happen to know the case? Just so I can reference it if my school gives me a hard time.
Thank you.
@ Angelo. Thats an excellent question.
Why is it that white gays have their own parade and gays of color have their own parade? If it’s not racism then what is it? and if it’s racism then why should other ethnic minorities feel compelled to support the gay rights?
is being a drag queen a choice?
@TigerTzu: I’ve gone down the tax withholding route: it is your right to withhold taxes for just about any reason. Maintaining that right in court is very difficult. That’s how it was explained to me by a tax expert. Good luck with whichever path you choose.
I was rather hoping the “expert” would be an attorney with experience in taxation law, specifically U.S. taxation law. I understand it is risky and that government harrassment is a possible repercussion, but that wasn’t my question. My question asked if there were legal grounds for my assessment.
Can we take up a collection to buy the Menstruator a wingèd, vibrating super Maxi-Pad ™ to settle her nerves? Perpetual Pre-Menstrual Syndrome is a TERRIBLE affliction!
@Isolated: you point out a very important problem in the gay community: we have not come to terms with bisexuality. For a long time, gay men have wanted to believe that bisexuality was an excuse for not fully coming out of the closet. While most gay men have probably come to see that this viewpoint is based in wishful thinking, not reality, it takes time for a subculture to change, especially in terms of widening its welcome to those who are different. I wish you success, and I thank you for bringing up the very important issue of tolerance and inclusiveness in the gay community.
@Anissa
Do you need to come out to your parents right now? Is there a chance that they would attempt to change your orientation, as some Christian parents have done? If there is a chance that you would be sent off for such “treatment”(which is thought by many to be harmful), then I would advise against coming out to your parents at this time. In my opinion, if you anticipate a hostile reaction, then you might want to wait until you are independent. In the meantime, you will find a welcoming community online who can offer their support and experience in dealing with the situation you are in. Many may disagree with my suggestion, but I think you should seriously consider the impact of coming out, and then decide whether it’s something you need to do right now. The last thing you need is more problems to deal with. Your question is courageous: keep that courage alive.
@Juan Strate: I think being gay is something you just are, so you tend to feel that way as well. It’s a bit like being straight in that sense. It’s probably not a situation or either/or. Does being gay mean you have to act in a certain way or believe certain things? Not at all.
@TigerTzu:
Withholding taxes for the reasons you describe would be dicey: you’d have to put all the taxes you owed into an escrow account and fight like the dickens in court, and you’d likely lose the case. Also, it would keep the IRS on your back for life, which is not worth the hassle. I admit that I’m pretty risk averse by nature, but once the IRS starts looking into your affairs, your life becomes wildly complicated for a long, long time.
Why do rural areas like our Lewis County, WA gays and gay friendly people not stand up and be PROUD, as we are now coming up to our 19th anniversary ?
My question is this: Do we have a legal standing to withold our income taxes? My question is based on the fact that there are many forms of taxable entities under the domain of the IRS. Some of the entities are not even human (corporations) and yet each categoryu has its own tax code outlining the rights and responsibilities for each category. Since there is no tax code specifically for 2nd class citizens, then it is my belief we should be exempt until such a code is written. Once written, the fee schedule should reflect a lower rate than applies for 1st class citizens seeing as we do not have full and equal rights.
Exactly who are these “experts” and what are their credentials?
I have one question, is being gay something you feel or something you are? I want to know this from someone who claims to be gay!
I like the Rachel summary. BTW it’s called “news” and sometimes it’s about non-gay stuff, which might affect us nonetheless.
