I really shouldn’t be doing this because my request to interview President-elect Obama when he was just a Democratic primary candidate wasn’t even responded to (Senator John McCain’s people sent a polite email saying nope); however, I want to add my voice with others who think Damon Weaver needs to be granted an interview.

The K.E. Cunningham/Canal Point Elementary School fifth grader is a budding journalist; he and his fellow students have created a video asking the president elect for an interview during inauguration week. Mr. Weaver is getting so much buzz he is on NPR and has Miami Heat basketball players saying on video Obama should step up to the plate and sit down with the young man.

This is easy pr, President-elect. Answer Mr. Weaver’s questions! It will be much more exciting than any other interview you do that week.
