Withers: O’Reilly is a big old tween

O'Reilly-top

What’s there left to say about Bill O’Reilly? The Fox News harbor of self importance has made a career of preening and doing his best to convince he is looking after our best interests. Getting put out by his trips of fancy is like getting mad at the rising sun.

When I had cable, I would sit in front of the tube yelling at the man’s craziness. Now I’m reduced to getting my fix from internets clips; I finally get what is the basis for his rantings and ravings. He wants to relive his middle-school years so he can be cool and popular.

A few days back he interviewed Scott Fenstermaker, one of the lawyer’s involved in the habeas corpus case of accused 9/11 terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali. Standard O’Reilly hot mess. Calls the attorney a weasel because he insists his opinion of 9/11 isn’t as important as the jury the accused will face. The interview ends with a question only heard when a gaggle of  girls are talking:

O’Reilly: You know people hate you. Do you care?

Fenstermaker: No, I’m honored that they hate me.

The complex combination of law, terror, and justice reduced to some middle school mishmash of being liked. I thought  O’Reilly was going to put his hands on the hips, flip the hair, and tell the attorney there would be no invite to his rad sleepover (do the youngsters still use that word?).

Fenstermaker’s response was spot on because being liked is not what matters, unless you are Willy Loman (and we all know how that turns out).

    • The man is a total phoney! Anyone who
believes what comes out of the mouth of O’Reilly is just as dumb as he is. Everything he says is to promote his own pathetic self-importance. He is a real scumbag. I’m surprised he hasn’t joined the Repubnican party!

    • that should have been Repugnican.

    • I much rather prefer watching O’Reilly’s Show when’s it’s being interpreted by Stephen Colbert. Colbert Report RULES!

    • He’s a lecherous pig, like something beamed out of the 70’s, and yet he wants to be some kind of moral compass. Put a compass in his hand and that needle’s gonna spin even more than he does. “Nobody likes *her*!” “You are *so* not invited!” Gawd…is there anybody who cares about him–if only in their hatred–where maybe he could be gotten on “Intervention”? Go to some retreat and learn to stop acting like the least graceful Gossip Girl? There’s a word for his behavior. It’s bitch. He’s a str8-up bitch.

    • I have been watching him randomly since his show started, just like Glenn Beck, and I have come to the conclusion that he is a commentator (duh) and is meant as entertainment, so what if he acts like a prig? He is just meant to stir the pot and the last time I checked, it’s a free bloody country and even jerks like him deserve the right to use their freedom of speech.
