Withers: No socialists on Obama’s economic team

I wonder if Ohio plumber Samuel Wurzelbacher, a/k/a Joe the plumber, is going to explain what happened today. After spending an election season on Fox News saying how Barack Obama is a socialist, I’ve not heard any musings from Joe about Obama’s recently announced economic team. Not a godless socialist to be found in the bunch.
Maybe it’s unfair to expect too much from Joe on this topic. Facts are rather difficult for him.

There may not be any socialists on Obama’s team, but there was certainly a socialist on the McCain ticket. Palin’s Alaska taxes the oil companies and sends the taxes directly to the citizens. That’s socialism. Sarah Palin is a socialist. (And an idiot and a homophobe, but I digress . . . )
As if being socialistic is a bad thing? What I love about this whole political debate is that generally speaking what the GOP calls socialism, America call being neighborly, or fair.
Of course Joe will have nothing to say… he can’t spin it into some nonsensical rant about Obama threatening Israel.
Tim you missed characterized the revenue relationship to between Alaska and the oil companies. The revenue is not a tax. The oil companies are paying (in general terms) for the oil since the oil is owned by the Alaskan public. It is not a tax. However, the government owning land can be viewed as socialism.
The money from the oil companies is invested the money from the dividends are split half used to run state government and half paid in dividend checks to the Alaskan people, hence the term “dividend check” but you knew that already.
Put you have to honest no matter how much one dislikes Palin she has more executive experience then McCain, Biden, and Obama combined. For all her faults she was the most fiscally conservative one out of the lot.
Ross YES! socialism is a bad thing! It is an anathema to Freedom. It restricts, withholds, confiscates and in many other ways encroaches on individual property rights.
