Withers, I just think you lost your point, if it started with your headline. Yes, the folks we need are those working every day, offstage, and that includes opinionaters who are not editors, in a real print medium or TV or radio, no matter how well I regard 365gay.com or Logo. That said, yes he’s an entertainer; would you say the same of Anderson Cooper if he became as “loud”?
Finally, as a 60-year-old man who wishes Adam well, I’ll say (juding from your online picture) you and I have an, um, “generational” challenge to overcome. I think you need more editorial space than this article got, to get your point across. Much love and respect,

This article is ridiculous. If youth or other members of the LGBT community view Adam Lambert as a role model, who are you to say he isn’t. Role models come in all different packages. And to put Adam in a “Rock n Roll, sex having, drug using, no use for our community” category is just outrageous.

actually the famous help get us ther. tell me how many people you think would have made it to the national equality march if lady gaga our new bisexual icon wasn’t there huh? maybe 100′000 less? Most of my younger generation doesn’t give a flying s%#t about how you old homos wan’t things done. we’d rather just live our lives out in the open without caring about what the consequences are. Most of us not including myself even want marriage at all for anybody.PERIOD!!! Out with the old in with the new. the old will die off and the young will take over.

somebody forgot about george michaels he was a masculine gay icon of the 80’s and i believe early 90’s. I love that Adam Lambert is taking risks on stage. I don’t know much about him and I am still extremely upset about the lack of coverage 2 of our brutally murdered brethren got but I do find it to be courageous that adam lambert is risking a huge fan loss by doing what he did to stick it to the man. “the straight man that is.”

So everything your “God” does makes sense, does it? Cancer, cot death, earthquakes, tornados, Britney Spears – none of these things make sense, but they’re not choices. People do not choose to get cancer or have their homes destroyed by earthquakes. It happens.

Now, before someone jumps on me I am not for one second comparing homosexuality to cancer or natural disasters – I’m just saying that if there is a God up there then his reasons are far beyond anything any of us can hope to understand. This God allows violent drunks and drug addicts to spit out babies by the dozen while good, decent, loving couples find themselves incapable of giving birth. This God allows child-raping scum to live out their lives in prison while a kind, caring person who has never harmed another living being in their life dies a slow, painful death because of cancer.

If there is a God, it is an arrogant fool who claims to understand his will, and Candice here is one such creature. Maybe your God created homosexuality because he wanted people to have some temptation to resist, some trial to endure to prove themselves worthy of his kingdom. Or maybe your God created homosexuality because he wanted human beings to embrace love in whatever form it takes. I don’t know which it is, or if it’s even either of the two, but if your God does exist, Candice, much of what he does will never make sense to us, because much of what he does seems thoroughly f*cked up and cruel.

And for the record, creating homosexuality, in my book, was one of his better moves.
