Jason Mattison Jr. is dead. The Baltimore teen, who was a quick wit and adored by teachers and peers, was found in the closet of an aunt. Raped, stabbed, and gagged.
“He was a sweet young man. He wasn’t afraid of who he was. He had a life ahead of him. I just wish he could’ve had a chance to live it,” said Laquanna Couplin, the child’s cousin.
The gay young man, he was out at school and to his family, was the center of attention in his classes and family and made sure his personal stamp was never in the shadows.
The suspect? A Dante Parrish, 35, a family friend with a criminal record that includes murder. Maybe as a defense he’ll trot out the gay panic line, although the rape of a child will make that tactic slightly problematic.
There’s not much to add. Just like there isn’t much to say about the murder of another youngster. Considering the tenor of some of the recent comments though, I can imagine someone blaming Mattison for his own death.
What a shame such a sweet kid,I just love his gayness.Sounds like he was in a intimidating situation being overpowered physically and sexually, and to afraid to tell anyone.A violent predator just out of the pen and and a innocent high school kid,terrible situation,with a tragic end.Keep him in jail this time,for good.

A young African American male High School Student here in Houston, Texas was attacked with a metal pipe after being chased down when he got off the school bus, but we have seen little or no press about it. This happened a week ago. He was attacked because he was Gay.
He had overheard that the kids involved were going to be attacking him, he went to 2 principals at the school and they did nothing, didn’t even call his parents. Before he got off the school bus he tried to get the bus driver to help him as well, but the driver also did nothing.
8 other kids watched while he was beaten for 7 minutes while the kid doing the beating said things like ” Your not going to be gay anymore” The beating ended when a person who lived in the neighborhood came out and fired a shotgun into the air. What would have happened had the neighbor not been home?
The bus driver has been suspended, and the school is doing an investigation on the situation. What that means here in Houston is that probably they will give the driver a few days off and give the 2 school Principals a slap on the wrist. If anything else happens it would be a first.
With these two other deaths it seems the world has gone mad. Hate Crime rates up everywhere. Please if you can look into this to raise even more awareness I think it is important. He is about the same age as Jason.
It is scary that we now need to be more wary then ever. Be careful all of you. We are being attacking left and right everyday somewhere and the severity level is escalating.
