Withers: Obama talking

By James Withers 11.05.2008 1:22am EST

Obama is setting the terms for his administration. Making sure people don’t get too excited and warns that there will be no picnic in the near future.

But, and this is where he is a copy of Ronald Reagan, he articulates  a belief in the country’s possibilities. That is what the best leaders do. Give you the problem, but then makes you believe it can be fixed.

    • Did I say happy? I dunno, that might be a little too difficult for you.

No, just find something good that you can work with. Unless you just want to give up on this country and leave, that is.

Otherwise why don’t you do something productive, like light some motivating fires under someone’s ass? If you give up, they win.

    • Ophidimancer, gay rights have been set back from from Florida to California, in no small part to the Obama campaign. What’s there to be so happy about?

    • Hey Wayne, is it possible for you to be constructive at all? Your favored candidate didn’t win, but doesn’t that mean it’s now time to see what you can actually get done with the Presidential hand you’ve been dealt?

You have the Constitutional right to bitch as much as you want, and more power to you, but don’t rights come with responsibilities?

Let’s try an easy kindergarten exercise: What good things can you find to say about an Obama administration?

C’mon, it’s not that hard, give it a try! :)

    • It sounds to me like Obama is already trying to lower expectations. Looks like this was some “Change” we should never have believed in. It wasjust a bunch of political rhetoric after all.
