Withers: Last chance for McCain and Obama
Tonight is it. The last presidential debate until we start the process all over again in 2010. Held at Hofstra University and hosted by Bob Schieffer of CBS News, this is John McCain’s last chance to stem the Barack Obama tide. Actually I take that back. It’s not his last chance, but McCain’s window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller. McCain has to make a case for why we should vote for him, not why Obama isn’t worthy of our consideration.
As for Obama he needs to do what he has done in the previous debates. Come off as presidential and show that he is not a risky choice. He’s also going to need to be calm and cool when the words Acorn, Ayers, and Wright are uttered.
Jennifer, Rachel, and I will be here as usual. Drop by. Say hello. Be generous to the wait-staff.

McCain pounded on Obama for not repudiating John Lewis’ comments re: George Wallace. Obama missed an opportunity in not asking him why he hasn’t repuditated Palin’s comments saying Obama pals around with terrorists.
