As progressives woman’s issues should be one of our top goals. I would think that dragging a 17 year old pregnant girl through public shame and judgment would be against everything we believe in.

Does a woman stop being a woman when her mothers a republican?

To do this seams to me equally slimy as making political points promising a Constitutional Admendment that I know will go nowhere.

What kind of equality do we want?

I guess I should have watched all those rousing speeches so I would be more current. Well I don’t need to waste time with all that crap. I can see very well what those a holes are doing. Patting themselves on the backs for being so clever and feeling so great about how they’ll all deliver us from the bad homosexuals. We can be cured, pandered, l;ied to, spit on, beat up and killed and no one will really miss us. Because we’re a threat to their sanctity of marriage and families. Oh really! 50% divorce rate {1 in 2}, dead beat parents, horrible child abuse, drunken spousal cheating, single parent homes, kids left to their own wills who commit terrible crimes, drugs, guns, irresponsible breeding abandonment and on and on and on. Sure a lot of relationships are fine in the str8 world, but Ithink lots of folks will lie about their’s because they don’t want to look bad to friends and family. Yes Iwant equal rights for everyone. Iam a gay man with a man I’ve been with for 32 years, I’m a lucky guy. We look at whats going on with heavy hearts, it hurts me to see and hear so much inequality all around us. Ijust have to say, I read one comment that states Palin sponsored an aerial kill of wolves. Well as an animal lover this just sickens me to death. How dare she approve of such meaningless cruelty. Maybe if she had been concentrating on her own family she wouldn’t have time to come up with what we are now beginning to learn. She is not vp material Neither is McCain. Both bigots of the worst ilk. We don’t need trash like them in power. You decide. Enough of you don’t want them that’s obvious. Vote for Obama and I see a better way to go. The notion that families are “off limits” is utterly detached from reality. Republicans have repeatedly made private sexual conduct an electoral issue, especially by denigrating and dehumanizing the LGBT community. This is about exposing hypocrisy in Palin and the general absurdity of conservative positions on sex education.

Ultimately Mr. Withers you are simply using this editorial for some shallow moral posturing which shows a painful lack of analytical rigor.

This from a Person who is under Indightment for Wrong Doings in teh Alaska Gov. not to mention she is against any Wildlife Sanctions AKA the Arial Wolf Hunts she pushed through the legeslature. “Abstenance” where? I find it very strange that the GOP consistantly exploits Palin’s family “troubles” as positives yet makes mention of them unscrupulous for anyone else to bring up. Everything from touting Palin’s 4 month old child as the poster child for their anti-abortion stance to having Bristol’s baby-daddy come to the convention tonight to stand with the family exploits the situation far more than any media outlet. You cannot on one hand say “respect their privacy” while appearing on the cover of People and OK magazines. You can’t say Bristol is off limits while creating a spotlight for her and her baby’s father at the convention. The GOP needs to make up their mind; either take the family completely off the table or accept both the positive and negative perspectives that come from this situation.
