Aw hell. Very few of you have any reason to pay attention to this, but I and a few others on here do. Portman is likely running for the Senate seat currently occupied by George Voinovich, who may not be rabidly ‘phobic but is part of the Ohio GOP machine. We have a Dem Senator now, Sherrod Brown (whose wife is also a columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer). Any of you who know the damage the GOP has done to Ohio know that we Ohioans simply can’t afford them. Portman is yet another of that GOP posse from Cincinnati–John Boehner, “Mean” Jean Schmidt, Steve Chabot and a couple of others in Congress, plus the Hamilton County GOP–the friendly people who sought Robert Mapplethorpe’s obscenity conviction, and the people who keep Sheriff Simon Leis in power, and also the people who have seen to it that you can’t order hardcore porn by US Mail and have it delivered to your 452xx zip code. They have another one–Phil Burress, head of Citizens for Community Values. He’s a self-described porn addict, currently on something like his third wife (other two: gone at least partly ’cause of his porn addiction), and he has his WIFE look at porn for him so he can deal with his addiction. Burress was one of the major players behind Ohio’s no-gay-marriage constitutional amendment.

This is just a small sample of the freak show. The lower-level people are all Jesus and the flag and the church and all that, so that tells you that you could probably get a wicked good blowjob at any truckstop within an hour of Cinci. DO NOT give these people money, even if you’re lifelong GOP, because they are an insult to the GOP. Portman is just another face of the Borg.

Because it doesn’t matter to her. She’s got the money and the connections and the power that will effectively prevent her from being discriminated against like the rest of us are whose fathers are NOT former vice presidents of the United States. This family of Cheneys cares about nothing but their own position(s). They don’t care about the rightness of anything; if they did, we as the United States would not have initiated a baseless and shameful war for oil, among many, many, many other things. They also wouldn’t be on every news and talk show known to mankind, defending torture and other illegal actions. These people embody evil in the 21st Century.

But I think the Star Wars metaphor is wrong. Cheney isn’t Vader. Vader had a heart. (Sure, it took him six chapters to discover it, but it happened!) Cheney is Emperor Palpatine, the soul-less politico whose only interest is self glorification. Heh. If Dick Cheney was Darth Vader, where the hell is Luke Skywalker!? It sure as heck AIN’T Mary!

And Menstruator, it sounds like it’s time for a hysterectomy. Take a little bit less of that estrogen in the morning and you might find that the world is almost tolerable. Seriously, though, do you not understand how you demean arguments when you play the anti-gender card inappropriately? If Withers is anti-woman… I can’t even finish the thought, it’s so absurd. Then again, I guess you find what you’re looking for… Cheers, lady. I hope your attitude improves.

I don’t cry “oh, they are picking on any and every male” when the least little article comes that mentions a well-known male just because they are male and just because I am a male who is affectionally and
sexually oriented toward the male gender in general.

However, I will speak up when other men use inappropriate and repulsively sexist anti-female language and Withers did not use any such socially unacceptable 4 and/or 5 letter-words that ridicule and deride females anywhere in this article and he was merely saying that Mary Cheney that was following in her father’s foot steps.

Another way of looking at this may be to see the hypocrisy of the right and the Republican Party in particular. I would bet this guy does not care one bit about gay right issues. However he knows based on the time period when he went in to politics, that if he had any chance of winning any elective office with the right wing bigots in control of the Republican Party he has to be against marriage equality and any other equality issue for that matter.

This is what I don’t get with gay Republicans. They say they’re not single issues voters which is fine. But when that single issue pertains to who you are and your pursuit of a happy and dignified life, how can you vote for someone who is against this. Quite puzzling!
