Every gay person should read at least one of Lynn Harris' books. My partner and I (30+ years) each started one of his books this weekend. OMG!! What a shame that he will not be around to write more books. The most beautiful love stories ever written. And real life stories. We will now buy all of his books. His writing is such a joy to read. Hard to believe that it is fiction. Yes, all of his characters may be black and many of the situation such as "black gay bars" may be a mainstay in his books, but that is what makes the stories so special. The love relationships are color blind and beautiful! (Oh, in case it is important to some, we happen to be white.)

>Are most baseball fans by nature nostalgic and anti-modernity?

Yeah, I think so. But, unlike the other sport I watch a lot, basketball, baseball doesn't seem to lend itself to anything modern. I mean, are steroids "modern"? Other than the aluminum bat, I can't think of a way that modern technology can really make a difference in the game.

...but I still think that tennis--especially men's tennis--got so much less interesting after wooden rackets went by the way side. We'll never see someone with the elegant touch shots of Chris Evert, John McEnroe, or Billie Jean King.
