Withers: Perez Hilton is sexist and racist

Writing about Perez Hilton, the dirty mouth of Hollywood, makes me want to shower to get the grime off. So this is it for me. Unless I hear Hilton is producing a bio-pic on Lester Young, I’m finished. While he likes to be the center of any party, his ego will not suffer from my embargo. People know the name Perez Hilton. You only say mine  if you are looking for fries with your meal.

Hilton got a good cover spread in the most recent Advocate. He talks about his affinity with Madonna and Oprah, his run-in with Will.I.Am  how much he despises dishonesty, that his calling is a civil rights leader(!) blah, blah, blah. When  he talks about the aftermath of the Toronto drama, Hilton offers platitudes that would shame any self respecting Lifetime movie writer.

“But what’s come out of all of this is that I’ve learned so much about myself, and I’m in a much better place. I’m actually thankful that it happened. As cheesy as it may sound, I had almost a spiritual moment when I just let all of the anger and worry go and am now filled with peace, happiness, and wisdom.”

Aside from that drippy and silly mess, Hilton also says he wanted to call Will.I.Am something else.

“I thought about calling him the n word, but I thought the f word was even worse. I was so filled with hate at that moment because I was hated on so much, and I reacted in the worst way possible.”

So instead of nigger, Hilton went for faggot? Jeesh, is there a reason to even be surprised? This is a guy who is certain calling Carrie Prejean a female dog has nothing to do with his sexism because he just adores women. Short history lesson Ms. Hilton: America gave gold medalist Jesse Owens a ticker-tape parade when he returned from Munich in 1936, but he still had to sit in the back of the bus. I have this silly habit of looking for more than bigoted taunting from someone who considers his vocation civil rights. I can get name calling from a few  Chicago t-shirts thank you very much.

This “thinking”should not  surprise coming from a guy who just wants to be sure his name is mentioned. Well I’ve done it for the last time.

    • James, you’ve given this man way too much coverage. Honestly, he’s not worth the print.

    • This is getting way too much publicity! The dude said something out of shock. Most of us would probably do something of the same sort. People are always trying to go out of the way to call someone a racist, sexist, or homophobe. Very exaughsting and not needed.

    • This topic is becoming unfashionably cliche.

    • You know, I am not a fan of Perez Hilton, not in the least. He is a gossip columnist which is beneath even bloggers with delusions of grandeur like most if not all of us on this site. However, with all that said. Perez Hilton is doing his thing, he is gay man who digs deep into the cesspool that is Hollywood to discover who is f*cking who, who`s gay, etc. Perez Hilton does what he does best and makes a dam*ed good living doing it. He is NOT a civil rights leader, and from all indications he didn`t want to be considered one. He asked that evil c*nt PreJean about an issue of importance(marriage equality) and not only did she insult all gay Americans by saying we don`t deserve equal rights, she butchered her own response. That hypochristian c*nt who is so happy to deny our rights, because according to her «God» we`re immoral, yet she was breaking her own moral rules by posing naked. Perez helped bring down a hypochristian by exposing her hypocrisy and bigotry, good for him. Also, James Withers has this tendancy to label anyone that`s white a «racist» just because they don`t believe that blacks are the creme de la creme of the human race. Also calling a bi*ch a b*tch doesn`t make one sexist, being a bit*h transcends gender. As far as the use of the word f*ggot to describe that talentless HomophObama-worshipping neanderthal WillDotIDotAm, maybe Perez knows something about WillDotIdotAm is hiding. Maybe what`s his ridiculous name is a closet case.

In any case, I don`t care much for Perez Hilton but he does what he does and it rarely if ever effects me, in a negative way. WillDotIDotAm and his group were instrumental in getting HomophObama elected with their musical propaganda.

Now, let`s move on to the next pop culture subject which has little to nothing to do with our community`s cause for rights and equality, Michael Jackson, ugh.

Correction: Michael jackson donated millions and millions of dollars to APLA (AIDS Project los Angeles, AMFAR (the American Foundation for AIDS Research), Project Angel Food (providing free food to poor homebound people with AIDS, among other LGBT related organizations. So please, get your facts straight (no pun intended) before you cast aspersions on others.

  • Rodney Moore Said: July 8th, 2009 at 2:08 am
    • I know someone who personally benefited from the Angel Food delivery program, in Atlanta. And I am glad that Michael Jackson, being that he died a billionaire could do something good for the community. Also, while AIDS-HIV have hit the gay community especially hard, due to apathy and homophobia, AIDS is hardly an exclusively gay phenomenon. But my original point remains, we need to move on, Perez Hilton and Will.He.Was aren`t imporant to our cause, and neither is all this Jackson coverage.

This last week, I went to see the free concert of Stevie Wonder at the Montréal Jazz Fest. And he was going on and on about Michael Jackson, about how we should remember him, honor him, yadda fu*king yadda. More than half of his concert was Michael Jackson related and those of us who were in swarms of idiots in the rain, came there to see and hear him, not hear him talk about MJ. At one point he tried to say the allegations about Michael were «bullsh*t» and that those making money off this should give the proceeds to the family. As if Michael Jackson`s family is suffering, with 40% of a billion dollar empire. Of course this might be racist or «agist» but Michael Jacskon was a pedophile, not a pederast or a chicken hawk, but a bonafide pedophile who would settle out of court for MILLIONS of dollars because the evidence of his impropriety was overwhelming and dam*ing. I am content with letting the man rest in peace, but I am sick of this Michael Jackson crap clogging the airwaves, tv stations, CNN and concerts. Who the he*l crowned him the King of Pop, I don`t remember my ballot. There is so much going on in the world, be it the new HIV vaccine, the repression in Iran, North Korea threatening to nuke us, HomophObama`s lack of action on any issue other than his dog and travelling around the world on our dime. Michael Jackson`s death has become an obsession, and instead of covering NEWS both the mainstream media and even our gay media are covering this kind of pop culture nonsense(Perez, Will.He.Was, and Michael Jackson). Can we move onto more important issues, which effect our lives, such as ENDA, DOMA repeal, DADT?

    • Yeah, but you gays hailed that jerk as a hero and lined up behind him like a bunch of high-kicking cheerleader queens when he was going after Carrie Prejean. (Maybe you yourself didn’t do that, Withers, but…so many.)

  • Larry Said: July 8th, 2009 at 9:17 am
    • To Barbarosa – The question presented to Carrie Prejean was “With the passing of the gay marriage bill in other states, should your state follow suit”? Ms. Prejean, as beautiful and talented as she is, did not answer the question. She gave an opinion on gay marriage, not if the state should follow suit. She lost, it had nothing to do with Perez Hilton, plus I do not condone his actions and HE (Perez Hilton) does not represent the entire gay community any more than the dress and leather wearing gays that get all the coverage during pride parades!

    • perezrevenge.com, Oh really. They even call themselves Hollywood’s most loved website. Yes I think people love their celebrities and don’t want to hear ANYTHING bad about them. Like that’s going to work. They might as well call themselves “Neverland celebrity informer”. All positive all the time. Ha!

  • Milt Said: July 9th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
    • Rodney Moore…..Since when do black people consider themselves the “cream de la cream of the human race” as you stated! This remark speaks volumes about you! You are a racist and I repeat this is why the gay community can’t get anywhere today. The gay community is filled with gay racist like you! There are all kinds of black people as well as different types of black gays. Racist like you are so ignorant! I had nothing for Micheal Jackson, but I do not believe he was a child molester. My problem with Jackson is that he was a “closet case” he could have came out of the closet at some point instead of doing all the crazy things he did. Don’t presumed you have insight in the lives of all black people gay or straight because what you see on television. Because you have or had a black partner, work with them, they ring up your purchases up at Walmart etc.. What fuels your racist narrow minds are visions of some form of black life “YOUR” white brothers who control the media want you to see! The poorest of black’s are the most visble. I can say all kinds of things about white people and use history to back up my facts. What about health care! Millions of white workers are one pay check away from being homeless. Yet, many of these same individual are fighting president Obama’s health plan. What does this say about “many”(not all) white people? I say lose yours parent’s racism if you truly want to move on!

    • Frankly Said: If the gay community and it’s literature, websites, and periodicals continue to focus attention on Perez Hilton, he becomes what we don’t want or need. It is time to do what the Amish do. Shun Perez Hilton.

    • James – you have NO room to talk whatsoever.

If this man were wearing a a cone shaped hat and a white sheet and you called him a racist – I’d still find it hard to believe.

You deemed all white gay people as racists.

You have ZERO credibility on this issue.

Further – YOU are the BIGGEST RACIST published here. You hate white people. You were quick to jump on Hilton – but I’ve never seen you call out anyone of color on racism. Why – YOU ARE A RACIST JAMES.

  • Mickey Said: July 13th, 2009 at 1:06 am
    • I know this is immature, but I go on his website just so I can berate him.
I can’t stand Perez. He has done way more harm than good, for the gay community.
He’s a hateful idiot who draws nasty things on people’s pictures and he write really rude comments,as well.
