I really wish we could leave the witchhunts after Speaker Pelosi to the likes of Newt Gingrich and right-wing bloggers. I find the Speaker’s version of the facts regarding the ongoing controversy to be as least as plausible as that of those who have challenged her and, while she has not necessarily demonstrated great political instincts during this episode, let’s remember that this is a Republican effort (and, granted, one which she has assisted by her missteps) to divert attention from the far more significant underlying issues about the Bush administration’s use of torture.

Speaker Pelosi has been a far more committed and far braver friend of our community than most significant elected officials and I propose that we come to her aid to rebut the transparent partisan attacks being made on her and not suggest that there is some validity to the questions which the likes of Newt Gingrich are raising.

No, Speaker Pelosi does not have any ’splaining to do to me. Shrub and Cheney and Alberto Gonzales and John Ashcroft and crew are the ones with ’splaining to do; let’s not fall for the attempts of Gingrich & Co. to divert us and to blur the real issue.

Strange, you say you saw 2 blondes with police officers, laughing, etc. and you thought how would you get treated. I had similiar incident recently and thought what if that was me…

where I live and it’s predomintly black, I saw a girl that looked like it took a bumper jack to get in her jeans, with nails about a long as lion claws and a hair weave braided in so tight her eyes were bout to pop out being worked up, laughing with couple cops on side the road, while some other brother who is gonna be 3rd wheel or 4th in the “party” was doing most of the work changing what looked like a flat tire…

Made me wonder if that was me, how’d i’d get treated? answer, I wouldn’t they would just pass me on up because it’s happened before as well.

Sad, but it seems like there is always lots of descrimination to go around.

The one who wasted your time was you – no one forced you to read this. I enjoyed it and it gave me pause for thought – not a bad thing in this era and world. By the way – I obviously “wasted” some time in reading your comment – but I doubt as long as you did writing it.
