i agree.
since when does America listen (or care) to what someone in a beauty pageant does.
A BEAUTY PAGEANT! i don’t even think most people in the country have the time to be watching let alone think about that, especially during these economic times when people are stressed out if they will make this month’s rent. I don’t understand why this is such a big deal.

Finally, someone who makes sense. Perez Hilton is doing more to hurt our cause than Miss California. She was asked a question and she answered it (poor thing) to the best of her ability. She was in a lose/lose situation. She could either be honest and face criticism or lie and reject her beliefs. The scary thing is not her being the new Anita Bryant but how much attention is focused on things that aren’t important. It’s pathetic. Besides, freedom of speech is a fundamental right in this country. Have we come to a point where we condone infringing on others rights as retaliation for us not receiving ours?

I wonder, James, if you would be so dismissive if she said that “in her country” she didn’t believed in interracial marriage nor integration?

It’s apathetic homosexuals like you that really are our worst enemies. You really do put the term Uncle Tom in a modern context.

We care what and how Miss America feels and thinks because she is, after all, a role model. Millions of people look up to people like Miss America and her views pack an impact on social topics. She may not practice rocket science, it’s true, but she does speak to millions of individuals. She needs to be more aware of social justice and fairness in her overall views on human issues.
