Something I never understood if there was fatal disease this infections with that rate out there we’d quarantine and test everyone but for some reason we don’t with AIDS. Quaritine may not be practical but Mandatory blood testing is very doable.

3% HIV in the black community in DC is very sad. It is odd but it seems that the black community really seems to need to be confronted about its reluctance to accept homosexuality as one aspect of the Black community. The “down low” issue is sometimes talked about and may be part of why the HIV rate is so high.

Perhaps, the black community in a way needs the gays to help them in some part with this HIV issue. Yet, it has been said that Black folks don’t welcome the gays into thier community even if the gay child is black.

It just stikes me that gays and some black communities may very well need each other for the greater good of both. It just seems odd.

Come on people. Attacking Mr. Withers all the time is sad and pathetic.But I hope he likes a non abusive conversation at times.Got to exercise it eh.

I’m sure to do such a report is a lot more accurate than go to do it on all races.Thus giving inaccurate results As reports should be precise as can be. Nothing wrong with it at all.

I’m sure the DL, self esteem, gangs, broken familyies.The fact that many just don’t care, and know they be living a short life, as there mentality with in gangs.Make them to not give a shit to health, period. Anyone educated, know a bit to gangs would know this.

Not to sound too detached to get the point, but it leads me to another question. Are there significant differences in HIV rates among blacks in different parts of DC (e.g. Anacostia vs. Georgia Av)? How do these numbers compare to adjacent cities and counties in Maryland and Virginia?

AIDS is not color specific. Treatment shouldn’t be limitewd or focused on one group over another. We are all at risk. We should all have the same consideration. What have you done James?
