Last night I watched as President Barack Obama walked out of the House of Representatives chamber after he was done talking to the nation. He was glad handing, giving hugs, and when people whispered in his ear the president would slowly nod. Democrats and Republicans asked for his autograph and Obama obliged, using a Sharpie. One Republican even asked the president for a basketball game—he also suggested a round of golf.
As an old head I’ve been watching these winter presidential speeches for awhile, and I’ve never seen a president sign so many pieces of paper. Imagine Brad Pitt at some movie premier working the crowd. That’s how Obama looked.
And those same Republicans who whisper about Obama’s citizenship status (I’m talking about you Mr. Shelby) made sure their pictures were taken with the man.
All of this movie star love could be gone in 30 seconds (the economy continues to tank, some foreign policy failure, a terrorist attack, etc., etc.); however, if all the Republicans can do is to roll out Louisiana’s governor Bobby Jindal to offer the GOP response to Obama’s speech they are going to be in the minority for a goodly while (and Jindal is a rising star).
You know they are in it deep when the folk at Fox News are not impressed (you read that right). Any speech is bound to fail when a large portion of it extols the virtue of a government employee who was a bigot.
Yerbrojoe. The chinese man you are referring to was born in the 19th century! and it wasn’t the state of Hawaii then, it was the Kingdom of Hawaii, hardly evidence for a birth in 1961!
There is no evidence a million dollars has been spent to fight these frivolous lawsuits.
You don’t lose your American citizenship when you live overseas. He was an American citizen when he went there and he was when he returned. A child can not renounce his US citizenship nor can a parent renounce it for him/her. Just because Indonesia doesn’t recognize other citizenships doesn’t change the fact that Obama, like any American child overseas, is only subject to American laws in regards to his AMERICAN citizenship. It doesn’t take much research Joe to find this stuff out. IF he had lost his citizenship in Indonesia, how do you think he returned at age 10 and resumed school here? How did he get back into Hawaii? He wouldn’t be able to get in legally at the airport. Do you think they were covering up such a thing when he was 10? Just in case he decided to run for president in his 40s? It makes NO sense.

Pakistan did NOT have a ban on travel from the US. That has been clearly refuted. The state dept. at the time posted warnings about travel there, but you only needed to apply for a visa.
Nothing has been “meticulously” sealed. That is a distortion at best. The state of Hawaii does NOT give you a ‘vault’ copy when you pay the 12$s. They have been clear about that and you can find the form yourself, it doesn’t even give you the option. The short form is based on data from the originals. The state of Hawaii has said they’ve seen it and they have said the short form is based on the date from the original, ie he was born in Hawaii just as the short form says. I used a certified short-form to get my passport as well and it didn’t have hospital info or my doctor’s name etc.
Signed affadavits from anonymous people are not evidence. His grandmother only said he was born in Kenya once and it was an error in translation while she was speaking through an interpreter who was being asked LEADING questions. It was quickly cleared up. Many of the posted recordings of this stop before it is cleared up. What are they hiding?
The people who hold to this conspiracy theory go on and on. I’ve heard Obama has HIV, herpes and smoked crack just a few years ago from the same people perpetuating this non-sense. If they put half the scrutiny they put into every small detail of info they have about Obama to there story it would quickly fall apart. It is nothing but distortions, misunderstandings, faulty assumptions and outright lies. It will go by the way of the moon landing and 911 conspiracies.
And, by the way, this conspiracy garbage isn’t given one bit more validity because a few people in the military are buying into it anymore than 85 frivilous lawsuits do.

I wish Obama would come out of the closet like we have. I know he’s gay. Larry Sinclair even filed a law-suit saying that they had natural sexual relations. Why does he have to hide his true feelings; it makes me feel worse about myself:(
There is only one question that concerns me re. Obama’s eligibility. . .
Obama has hired THREE law firms and has spent upwards of a million taxpayer dollars in an effort to keep anyone from seeing his documents.

The link shows plainly a document that a legal Birth Certificate does exits. But this legal document has not been viewed by those to whom need viewing it and he Mr. Obama will not be our legit Commander and Chief until these documents have satisfy our U.S Constitution.

DeaninMi…there are plenty of conspiracy theorists out there digging the same holes you seem hip to dig. That’s cool, go for it. I am of the same mindset as the President when asked about punishing the last administration for crimes…it’s not the focus right now. Looking forward is the only thing that’s going to get us upright again.
But again, I do not begrudge you your campaign to undo the President’s credibility. I just don’t want to have any part of it, nor to be associated in any way with your group.
How is the child of an American citizen not automatically an American citizen too? Went through this whole foolishness with McCain because he was born in the Canal Zone. Did not and does not matter because at least one parent was US citizen. A woman could go into labor in a yurt in Mongolia, the kid is American. The reverse–child of foreign-born parents who is born in US–is also true, which is how a middle-schooler can be allowed to stay in US while the parents are forced to go back to country of origin.
So this also means none of the dittohead drones at Faux News have bothered to find out what documents Obama used to get a driver’s license in Hawaii, Massachusetts or Illinois? Even children have to have passports to go to most countries–is there some allegation that Indonesia allowed young Barack in without a passport? It seems that the reason that the GOP keeps harping on this birth certificate thing is that it’s currently the only hope they have of defeating Obama. What compelling reason exists for Obama to produce such an identifying document? Why, there’s a CONSPIRACY, that’s why. Of course, when the search was on for proof that Shrub served so much as one hour in the Alabama National Guard, the country is supposed to just accept that those records are either destroyed or missing without asking any questions. Grow up.

What is wrong with asking a President to produce a birth certificate? They ask me for one if I lose my driver’s license, for Gawd’s sake. I would expect ANY Presidential contender to make available to the public all of the documents that would prove eligibility. This current President has been less than transparent.

I keep asking this question, but nobody knows. Why? Why keep even those records secret? Is Obama another “C” student?
Remember this….If we don’t apply pressure to Obama to produce some of the documentation he has been less than forthcoming on, then we will never be able to apply pressure to a Republican who wants to do the same thing. They’ll always be able to say, “You liberals didn’t put pressure on Obama!”

I love Obama, but he’s not the first President to sign autographs on the way to that particular podium.
All they want to see is a $10 birth certificate! At least 5 congressmen have now signed onto a lawsuit requiring Obama to produce, birth records, college applications and passport records. Although the Senate had hearings during the primaries regarding John McCain’s eligibility, they refused to verify Obama. Currently the president has only provided a short form certificate to a website, and not to any government verification agency. He has spent $1000000 hiding his past. An example of a short form certificate is the Hawaiian birth certificate of Sun Yat-Sen, the first president of the Republic of China, who’s long form birth certificate shows him to be born in Guangdong, China He obtained the same kind of short form Hawaiian birth certificate as Obama which also states his place of birth as Honolulu, even though he didn’t come to the US until he was 14. (Obama Family and Kenyan officials have given affidavits that he was born in Kenya, his mother wasn’t old enough to confer any kind of US citizenship to him if this is true). We know Obama was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, and records from his school list him as an Indonesian citizen. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship. This required him to drop any other citizenship. As far as we know, unless he applied to become a naturalized US citizen when he became an adult, he is an Indonesian citizen still. As an Occidental college student, age 20, he traveled to Pakistan, which had closed it’s borders to US citizens. The current court case requires Obama to open records he has meticulously sealed from public scrutiny, school admission records, passport records, and a long form birth certificate. Why spend a million dollars to hide something if you are ‘transparent’ and have nothing to hide?
