Reuters says he will pick a replacement Friday (tomorrow). This according to Patterson.
The dynasty issue is crap. If Cuomo gets it, guess what? Why does it matter who you are related to?
If you are worthy and think you can do good for the people you represent then why should you not run?
Having lived in New York and having voted for Hillary I would say that she was by far the most active Senator who got more done than almost any other.
If Chelsea wants to run I think she would have a big following in a few years.
It's like a family business. You develop an interest because you are exposed to it, see it from the inside, and know what you are in for.
Carolyn is a great lady, smart, likeable but maybe not enough chops to take the heat. That according to her. She'll still keep doing good and she'll always support total Gay Rights.
Whoever it is will have some pretty big shoes to fill. Look at Hillary's last day as a Senator. She introduced fair pay legislation and Leahy is going to co-sponsor so it doesn't die on the vine. It's about fricken' time.
I think perhaps this is good from the standpoint that New York is in about the same shape as the rest of the country and a little more experience can only be a good thing. But keep up the good, humanitarian, and civic work Caroline. It's greatly appreciated.

Could it be Caroline woke up? Looked at Her Interviews? Realized She Was Unqualified?

Regardless of the reason, New York Thanks You Caroline. Now the Governor can concentrate on qualifications.

"Instead it was a sense that family dynasties in politics are slightly out of tune in a democracy."

Huh? I thought you were a Bush fan?!

Caroline Kennedy gave more to this Country than anyone sqwaking about her belonging to an entitled dynasty. When that dynasty was giving what some people craved...it was all good then. Now, belonging to a dynasty is somehow a bad thing without looking further as to whether that particular dynasty has done more to advance the rights of the average American citizens than other dynasty that, say, take much more than they give.

Caroline stepped out and endorsed Barack Obama with her uncle at a crucial moment in the campaign and used that power from her family name to embrace Obama and change. Obama's win was not a certainty at that point and she lent a much needed inspiration to the long journey ahead.

She also stepped out to support gay marriage and full equality for Gays from the onset. For the short time she bothered to show herself to the American people she has shown me that she has more courage and honesty than ordinary politicians. Your article just sickens me as it is a clear reminder of those people who take more than they are willing to give.

Thanks, Kennedy!
I hope this is a wake up call to the nation; it's time to end family dynasties in American politics.
I hold absolutely no grudge against Caroline Kennedy.

Funny. It's a good day for Hillary Clinton yet this entire piece is about a Kennedy. Just so you know, it's not a good day for Hillary Clinton supporters. Tuesday was supposed to be. However sexism is still fun in this country so we must keep at it!
